Climate
French Polynesia enjoys tropical, warm and humid weather all year round. A warm rainy season lasts from November to April, and a relatively cool dry season from May to October. The rest of the year rain is rare and temperatures constantly high, tempered sometimes by refreshing breezes. Except in the Marquesas and the northern Tuamotus, rainfall is abundant, falling in violent showers. The water temperature ranges from 79°F to 84°F (26°C to 29°C) making for extremely pleasant bathing all year round.

Navigation conditions :
Ideal sailing conditions for yacht charter can be experienced from April through to the end of October with sunny weather and good easterly trade winds.Navigation in the leeward islands is easy, with relatively short distances between islands. Lagoon entrances are well marked with buoys. The area is not tidal, making for very easy yacht charter.
Normal Wind Direction
From April to June and September to October winds generally blow in an easterly direction between 10-15 knots. July and August can be windier periods and you may experience occasional heavy rainfall between November and March.

A valid passport is required. US citizens do not require a visa for a stay of up to one month. Extension is possible after arrival.
